Play by Howard Barker

‘Howard Barker is the Shakespeare of our Age’ – Sarah Kane

The Red One Collective (Best Small Theatre Company, Now Magazine, Toronto), acclaimed Director Dean Gabourie (Stratford Festival, ACME Theatre Co.), and some of Canada’s most accomplished Theatre Talents have gathered together to mount a production of World renowned playwright Howard Barker’s, rarely produced,’The Castle’. This is a co-operative production (The Castle Collective) – fees and actors wages are split from the profits at the door.

The men have returned to The Castle to find it overrun by rampant feminism and sapphic love. Ideas in conflict and words run wild. The Castle questions power, gender, sexuality, race & religion in Barker’s classic explosive style. The Castle is more relevant today then when it was first produced in 1985.
